Obituary of Betty Helen Randolph

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Gridley Biggs Cemetery for Betty H. Randolph, who turned 100 this last July 18th, and died on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018.

Betty was predeceased by two husbands; William J. Fiedler and Charles Randolph.

She is survived by her three children; Patrice D. “Pattie” Whalin, William B. “Bill” Fiedler, Charles M. “Mac” Randolph, four grandchildren: Katie Fiedler, Scott Randolph, Megan Randolph, and Ben Randolph.

Betty was actively involved in education. Graduating with a BA degree from UC Berkeley in 1937 after graduating from Biggs High School, she completed her education at Mills College gaining a teacher’s certificate. She served as a director of the California School Boards Association, a trustee of the Biggs Unified School District, a Trustee of the Butte County Board of Education and a trustee of Oroville Elementary School District. Betty was very active in local social clubs. She was a member of Omega Nu, Monday Club, and Inner Wheel Club. She enjoyed her decades old bridge club and playing in Oroville bridge tournaments with her husband, Charles. Betty was involved in farming all of her married life. Her first husband farmed orchards in Biggs and in Oroville, she operated the rice farms her parents, Leon & Charlotte Brink left, after their passing.
