Obituary of JAMES HAUGHEY

James Joseph Haughey (Jim) was born on Oct. 2, 1927 in San Francisco, CA to James and Annie Haughey. Jim passed away on July 12, 2015 in Oroville, CA. He was a beloved son, husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and uncle. Jim’s Catholic faith was always very important to him. Through Elementary & High School he was an alter server for the Arch Bishop of San Francisco. He was privileged to be one of the servers when the future Pope Pius XII visited SF in 1936. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, he joined the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he graduated from the University of San Francisco and then became a San Francisco Firefighter. After retiring from the SF Fire Department he moved to Oroville and enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting with his son Mike. He is survived by his daughter Mary Kaye Haughey, granddaughter Heather Busk, great granddaughter Kasey Busk, great grandson Jacob Davis, sister-in-law Rita Browne and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, son Mike, and daughter Terrie Anne Box along with his sisters a& their spouses: Clare & Emmet Murphy, Aileen & John Niland, Kathleen & William Hanley and his in-laws: John & Jean Browne, Joseph Browne, Robert Browne and Helen & Norbert Lehmann.
