Obituary of Maria J Hernandez

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday January 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Maria de Jesus Hernandez Del Rio, 77 of Gridley. Maria passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Chico, CA. She was born March 2, 1940 in La Sábila, Michoacán, México.

She was a longtime resident of Gridley, and was a very loving person, devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Maria is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Manuel Hernandez of Gridley, two sons; Gabriel Hernandez of Baytown, TX, Ignacio Hernandez of Yuba City, four daughters; Lourdes Garcia of Gridley, Irma Ramos of Mexico, Soledad Hernandez of Mexico, Maria (Jorge) Flores of Gridley, two sisters, two brothers, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday January 21, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Interment will be in Mexico. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
