Linda Mason

Obituary of Linda Jean Mason

Surrounded by family and friends, Linda Jean (Bryson) Mason of Oroville, California, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 following a short battle with leukemia. Linda was born April 15, 1943 in Gorman, Texas where her family ranched. Later, she moved to Butte County, graduated from Oroville High School, and attended Chico State University prior to marrying W. Allen Mason III. They raised three children: Renee, Daphne, and Carson. Her husband’s job required frequent relocation and Linda lived throughout the United States and Canada during her tenure raising children. Very close to her family, Linda loved ranch life and, when her husband’s job took him out of the country, she and her children resided at the family ranch to await his return. Linda enjoyed her family and friends, treasuring holidays and family time spent together, particularly in the High Lakes where the family summered cattle. She was an accomplished horsewoman, a gifted seamstress, and a talented cook.  Linda had a special place for animals in her heart, particularly dogs, horses, and cattle.

Linda leaves behind three children: Daphne (Gregg) Warren, Renee (Grant) Dewell, and Carson Mason; and three siblings: Gerald Bryson, Betty Deakins, and Bob (Kim) Bryson. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Caitlin, Nicole, and Nolan Dewell.  She is survived by 4 nieces and 2 nephews, several cousins, and extended family.

Services are pending until summer 2018 as Linda requested that she be cremated and her ashes spread in the High Lakes she loved so dearly.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butte Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
