Obituary of Glenn Eugene Martin

His Legacy… Glenn Eugene Martin was born on June 13, 1924 in Brownsville, Texas to John and Alvira (Ellis) Martin. Glenn passed away on August 14, 2015 in Oroville, California. Glenn married the love of his life Heloise Grisham from Diboll, Texas on February 4, 1944. Glenn served in the Army Air Core during WWII then graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Forestry in 1953. After accepting a position with the U.S. Forestry Service Glenn and Heloise moved their family, now with four sons, to Northern California in 1963. Glenn worked in multiple Forest Service districts including stops in Corning, Susanville, Fall River Mills and Greenville before retiring in Oroville in 1983. After retirement Glenn volunteered his time with the Butte County Gleaners and as a Vice President of the California Old Time Fidlers Association. Glenn and Heloise were married and astounding 71 years and they had many enjoyable retirement years of volunteering, going on cruises and spending time with their large family. Glenn’s love for Heloise never faded and she will miss him with all of her heart. His Family… Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Heloise Martin, son Glenn (Janelle) Martin Jr. of Reno, NV, son John (Barbara) Martin of Oroville, CA; son Don (Lani) Martin, son Carl (Angela Del Grande) Martin both of Fall River Mills, CA; sister Ruth Riley of Houston, TX, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents John & Alvira Martin, sisters Mabel McDonald, Winona Fesler, Loren Levy and brother Ellis Fesler.
