Obituary
Our gentle, kind and goofy brother, Arne Reese Lo Celso AKA Buz, Bruzzy etc., was born in Washington D.C. January 28, 1952 to Irene and A.J. LoCelso. He was the third child and only son of Irene and A.J. Lo Celso.
Buz was a great brother to his little sister and big sisters as well. He played the clarinet in the school orchestra and got into playing the Saxaphone later on. He also followed the Grateful Dead. He loved music and so much more: Tibetan Buddhism, archaeology, and animals. He saved several dogs and cats, adopting them and giving them good lives.
Buz was into gardening and started out doing that for a living before he decided to become an R.N. His first daughter, Shanti, was born in January of 1977. He graduated from Ventura Junior College. He became a Livingston Nurse, traveling to people's homes and working with those who were dying of Cancer or AIDS. Later, he worked at St. Joseph's in Oxnard, CA, as an oncology nurse. In March of 1988, our father passed away, and his daughter, Gianina, was born. He then married his longtime girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Denise Musial.
Much later, Arne married Marie Kennedy. In September of 2015, his eldest daughter, Shanti, gave birth to Mela, and Buz, Marie, and his daughter Nina cared for her for the first 1-1/2 years of her life. Buz & Marie moved from Ojai to Paradise, California, to be closer to Mela and his daughter, Shanti. Sadly, their house burned down, lost in the Paradise ‘Campfire,’ and they had to start all over, moving to Oroville, where they made their home.
In November of 2025, Buz became very ill with pneumonia. We thought his health had improved, but unfortunately it continued to deteriorate, facing many health challenges. His daughter, Nina, went to be with him and his wife, Marie, to help him go home from the hospital and finally have some peace.
He was predeceased by his parents, his oldest sister, Holly, and her son Toby, and is survived by his sisters, Dawn Lo Celso (Terry Egan) and Jane (Mike Gagner), as well as his daughters, Shanti and Gianina, and his wife, Marie.
Our warm and loving brother/dad/husband and friend has gone home and is sorely missed.
