Lawanda Parsons was born on April 23, 1933 in McCurtain, Oklahoma to Floyd and Ora
McElhaney. Lawanda passed away on May 25, 2026 in Palermo, Ca. She is remembered as
a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother. She
was a blessing to her family and community, always willing to lend a helping hand. She
spent her days gardening, making jelly, completing puzzles, and walking hand in hand with
God. On Sundays, she attended church at Free Trinity Church. Before retiring to spend her
time as a homemaker, Lawanda worked at Farmer’s Market and Western Auto.
Her Family:
Lawanda is survived by her children: Wanda Jean Womack, Sharon Murphy, and David
Parsons, six grandchildren: Christina, Danny, Chris, Dustin, Michael, and Brittney, 11 great
grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is
preceded in death by her husband, Robert Parsons, her son, Jerry Hester, and her 6
brothers and 1 sister: Curtis McElhaney, Bonnie Stinson, Harmen McElhaney, Floyd
McElhaney, Dean McElhaney, Charles McElhaney, and Jimmy McElhaney.
