Aunt Lawanda was the hardest working woman I have ever known, with the exception of her daughter Sharon. She worked in her yard in the heat or the cold without fail, even when most people her age would just be sitting in a chair. I admired her greatly.

Every Sunday after church Wanda would make a HUGE supper for anyone that wanted to come. It was a rotating list of friends and relatives, all sitting around her big kitchen table.
Some specialties were ham and fried chicken; always plentiful, delicious and made with love. What I looked forward to the most though, was her fried okra. No one made it better than Wanda! I have tried!
She was a gentle, kind soul that loved her family and Jesus and lived a life that honored him. I will miss her dearly but know that she is enjoying a beautiful reunion in Heaven with all who have gone before her.
