Kirk Owen Rood was born on October 24, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska to Leonard and Darlene Rood. He passed away at his home in Oroville, California on May 6, 2026. 

Kirk married Wilma Christine Dean (whom he lovingly called "Chris") on April 7, 1973, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple welcomed their son Chance Owen Rood into the world on September 19, 1980, and their daughter, Tara Christine Rood, on September 2, 1984. 

Kirk was a member of the Carpenters Union for over 50 years. On his off time, he enjoyed building things around his property. In his later years, Kirk enjoyed watching movies in surround sound that could rival any movie theater! 

Kirk was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Chris, mother; Darlene, father; Leonard, brothers; Darwin and Dale, and Sister; Dianna. He is survived by his son; Chance (daughter in law Sarah), daughter; Tara, and grandchildren; Haley, Abbey, Alia, Berto, Liam and Ella.

Kirk will be remembered for his stubborn and ornery side, as well as his sweet side. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
