Lance C. Cárdenas, 38, of Palermo, California, passed away on March 26, 2026.

Lance will be remembered for his kind heart, warm spirit, and the joy he brought to

those around him. He was someone people genuinely loved being with, and his

presence had a way of making others feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued. He

touched many lives through his kindness, his connection with others, and the sincere

way he cared for family and friends. He found joy in hiking Phantom Falls in the North

Table Mountain Ecological Reserve, fishing, and spending time at Lake Oroville State

Recreation Area, where he especially loved watching the sunset.

His heritage within the Mooretown Tribe of Maidu Indians was a source of great pride for

Lance and remained an essential part of his life’s journey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Linda Gramps and Jose A. Cárdenas.

Grandparents Evelynn Killgore and Oliver Gramps. He is survived by his grandfather,

Coy Killgore; his children, Arionna Cárdenas and Elvis Jose Smith Cárdenas; and his

siblings, Joseph Baldwin, Alex Cárdenas, and Lori Cárdenas Benton, along with their

families. He also leaves behind his uncle, David Gramps, and family (Angel Martin), and

Richie Gramps); his aunt, Betsy Gramps; his cousins, Darroll Phillips, Natoshia

Almodova, Bubba Almodova, Stevie Phillips and Skky Phillips; and Lucy Cárdenas and

her family.

Lance’s memory will live on in the hearts of the many family members and friends who

loved him and cherished the time they shared with him.
