Jane Louise Thomas was born on July 5, 1934, in Los Angeles,

California to Charles Mason Williams, Sr. and Lovie Dee Williams. She

passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 91 years old.

Jane graduated from Jordan High School. She later earned an Associate

of Arts Degree at Mt. San Antonio College in Pomona, CA with an

emphasis in Child Development. This led to a twenty-five-year career as

a Child Development teacher for the Pomona Unified School District.

Once Jane accepted Christ as her personal Savior, she never looked back.

She and her husband, Vernon, often hosted bible studies at their home

and at one point, she led a women’s bible study group. Her favorite

songs were, “Yes, Jesus Loves Me”, “Because He Lives”, and “What a

Friend We Have in Jesus”. She attended Sky Pilot Church in Pomona,

CA and was a member of Pastor Earnest Sody’s church located in

Pasadena, CA for many years. When she relocated to Orcutt, CA, she

became a member of the Four Square Church in Santa Maria, CA.

In addition to being an avid sports fan, Jane was a good athlete in her

youth and at one point played for a traveling softball team. She was a

power hitter. Much later in life, she became a passionate lawn bowler.

She joined the Santa Maria Lawn Bowling Club where she was a

fearsome competitor and won many competitions. She received many

awards during that time, including “Athlete of the Year” on several

occasions. She kept this activity up well into her 80’s. When it came to

playing board games and other competitive activities, Jane took no

prisoners, even amongst her grand kids.

Those loved ones who preceded her in death include her parents,

Charles and Lovie Dee Williams, her husband, Vernon Thomas, along

with her siblings Muggins, Melvin Nunn, Charles Williams, Jr., Mary

Alice Young, Lovett Williams, Norma Jean Nelson, Ralph Williams,

Wayne Williams, and Ronald Williams.

Those who will continue to cherish the many memories made during

her lifetime include her sister, Lonita Burney; her children Gary Davis

(spouse Donna), Andrea Lorenz (spouse Tony), and Devin Thomas

(spouse Rosa); grandchildren Candace Garrett (spouse Kyle), Mecklen

Davis (spouse Vanessa), OrShea Davis, Seraphina Lorenz, Matthew

Thomas and Devin Thomas, Jr.; great grandchildren Jada, Ariadne and

Amira Davis and Allana Pithoud. She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.
