Pauline Marion MacKenzie Obituary

Pauline MacKenzie

Our beloved mother Pauline MacKenzie passed away on March 21, 2026 at our home in Oroville, CA.

Pauline was born on November 30th, 1943 in San Francisco, CA to Marion Brown. Her Sister, Teddie, was born in May 31st, 1950. Pauline was raised by her Godfather George and Helen Estelita until she was 8 years old. She would talk of that time as every little girls dream. She attended Corpus Christi Catholic School. Then she went to live with her mother and sister at Valencia Gardens in the Mission District. Her life became very hard during this time. She attended Norte Dame Catholic School. There she flourished as the star athlete of the student body. This is where her love of all sports came from, until the day she died.

In 1965 she married Norman MacKenzie of San Francisco, CA. They had two children, Denise and Scott. In 1972 they divorced and Pauline had custody. Pauline started working for the San Francisco Police Department where she would remain until her retirement, 38 years later. Pauline started as a Meter Maid and worked through many departments in the organization. She worked as the journal officer at all major events; from the Pope John Paul II visit, to the 1989 earthquake, and all the Giants and 49ers home games.

Pauline moved out of San Francisco in 1998 to Hercules, CA and then in 2023 she moved to Oroville, CA.

Pauline’s loved sports. From the SF Giants, to the SF 49ers, to her beloved Duke Blue Devils basketball team. She loved March Madness and her friends knew not to call during March Madness or the Olympics.

Pauline was very talented. She loved to write. From her trip to Ireland, to the 1989 earthquake, or about Teddie's life; the poems she wrote for each of her children.

Pauline was an avid pin collector, with 100's of pins and sports memorabilia. Pauline loved to travel within the United States and abroad.

Pauline is survived by Denise and Scott MacKenzie, lots of cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. We were blessed to have her in our lives.

She would always say when she heard someone died, "Welcome Home".

Welcome Home Mom...
