Peggy Nell Bodine, born February 6, 1939, in Three Rivers, Texas, passed peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Elk Grove, California, following a courageous four-year battle with metastatic breast cancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; her son, Lewis D.; and her grandson, Michael.

She is survived by her five children and twelve grandchildren, and she was extremely excited for the arrival of her 32nd great-grandchild in May, as well as several great-great-grandchildren.

She dearly loved embroidery, gardening, canning, and her pets.

Jimmy will forever hold close the hours they spent talking just weeks before her passing.

Polly has wonderful memories of packing up a U-Haul for the family camping trip to Fort Bragg and riding the Skunk Train.

Dennis loved her lasagna and apple pie, talking to her daily, and bringing food to her every Sunday.

Lizzie cherishes the memories of Mom teaching her to embroider, coming home from work at the cannery with a pocket full of cherries and saying she had "picked the best," and the beautiful zinnias growing in the flower beds, which she would pick and take to school. She will forever hold dear the year she spent taking care of Mom, and the last week she spent with her.
