Darlene Hellen Rood Obituary

Darlene Helen Rood passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and enduring strength. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Leonard Rood on November 20, 1945, and together they built a life centered on family, commitment, and care for one another.

Darlene was born in Nebraska and moved to Orange County, California in 1959. The family later relocated to Butte County in 1976, where they made their home on 15 acres. Darlene loved working on the property, taking care of her animals, and volunteering at the Gleaners. Darlene had grit and was always moving, never one to sit still, and she took pride in staying active and caring for those around her. These simple but meaningful parts of her life brought her great joy and reflected her strong work ethic and generous spirit.

Darlene was a devoted mother to her four children: Darwin Rood, who preceded her in death in 2011 and was married to Konnie Zinn Rood; Kirk Rood, whose wife, Chris Rood, recently passed in 2026; Dale Rood, who passed in 1979; and Dianna Rood, who passed in 2022. She carried the loss of her children and loved ones with quiet strength while continuing to be a source of love and support for her family.

She was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Debbie Rood Danielson (married to Jack Danielson), Eric Rood (married to Jennifer Burns Rood), Aren Rood, who preceded her in death in 2004, Chance Rood (married to Sarah Wyles Rood), and Tara Rood. Her family continued to grow with the addition of several great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jackson, Logan, Katie Jo, Haley, Abbey, Alia, Kyla, Berto, Liam and Ella., each of whom brought her immense happiness.

Darlene will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her presence was a steady source of comfort and strength, and her memory will live on in the lives of those she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who knew her.
