It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Rick Fenn, who peacefully left us on September 20th at home, surrounded by his devoted wife, Daisy, and his family.

Rick was married to Daisy Fenn, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and community. He was a proud father of seven children and a cherished grandfather to five.

Rick spent his childhood farming in the Sutter Buttes, where he developed a lifelong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land. Before joining the fire service, he worked as a cattle and rice farmer. He dedicated 22 years to the fire service, protecting and serving the Sutter County community. Through hard work and strong leadership, he rose through the ranks and retired as Fire Captain in 2015. Rick will be remembered for his servant heart, strong leadership, and unwavering dedication.

In addition to his firefighting career, Rick gave back to the community as a basketball coach at Manzanita for 26 years and as an assistant coach at Gridley High School. His passion for mentorship and teamwork left a lasting impact on countless young athletes.

Outside of his service and coaching, Rick embraced life and adventure. Growing up, he enjoyed racing three-wheelers, and in retirement, he loved traveling with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Rick’s legacy is one of service, love, and integrity. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

A service to honor Rick’s life will be held on October 3rd at 10 a.m. at The Father's House, 10720 Highway 99, Live Oak, CA 95963. In lieu of flowers, per Rick’s wishes, donations may be made in his name to the Live Oak Volunteer Firefighters Association or the Gridley High School basketball program.
