Katherine Elizabeth Ziemer passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2025, in Oroville, California

Kathy was born on October 2, 1959, in National City, California along with her twin sister, Caroline to Joseph and Sharon Mize Sr.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph “Frank” and Sharon Mize Sr., brother Daniel Mize and twin sister Caroline Franklin.

Kathy is survived by her son Drew (Maria) Christensen, brother Joseph “Frank” (Sharon) Mize Jr, Nephews Scott (Gabriella) Franklin, Joseph (Theresa) Mize III, Brent (Elizabeth) Mize, niece Joelene Gillman, brother-in-law Jeff Franklin and many great nieces and nephew. Kathy and Caroline were very close growing up together and remained best friends throughout their lives.

Kathy was the manager of the Jiffy Mart at Oro Dam Blvd and 14th St. in Thermalito for many years. She was hard-working and always greeted her customers with a friendly smile. After the Jiffy Mart was sold she managed the Valero Gas Station on Oro Dam Blvd until new owners took over. After that she was a cashier at Feather Falls Casino for 9 years.
