Obituary of Irene Marie Stokes

Irene Marie Stokes, a longtime resident of Oroville, California, passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 81.

Born on December 31, 1943, in Montana, Irene was the daughter of John Russell Becker and Myrtle Marie Becker. She was married to Bruce Casha Stokes in 1961, and they shared 49 years together until his passing in 2010.

Irene graduated from Yuba City High School in 1960 and went on to pursue her passion for nursing at Yuba College. She dedicated over 40 years to the profession, caring for others with compassion and commitment.

She is survived by her son, Michael Stokes; and her cherished grandchildren: Crystal, Michael Stokes Jr, and Melissa, great grandchildren: Bindi Jr., Brannen, Bastian, Derek, David, and Oceanna. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Stokes.

In her free time, Irene found joy in reading and crocheting; quiet pastimes that reflected her thoughtful and creative nature.
