Patrick Donald Thigpen

Patrick Donald Thigpen, 79, of Oroville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Pat was a hardworking man with a quiet strength and a kind heart. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Joanne Ziebarth. About 25 years ago, they made Oroville their home, drawn by the peace and beauty of the land. Together, they spent their retirement surrounded by nature and the simple joys it brought.

Pat had a special love for the birds that visited their property—especially the peacocks. One in particular, named Henri, became a close companion. He found comfort and connection in the natural world, and those quiet moments meant everything to him.

A deep thinker and a true book lover, Pat was rarely seen without his Nook. He read more than two thousand books over the years—each one at least once, and some several times over. Above all, Pat was a gentle soul with a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Wendi Adams, and by the many friends who still speak of him with admiration and respect. To those who knew him, he was one of the finest men to walk this earth.
