Obituary of Anita Kathleen Whitley

**In Loving Memory of Anita Kathleen Whitley** 
*August 5, 1922 – March 12, 2025* 

Anita Kathleen Whitley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and great-aunt passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at the age of 102. Born on August 5, 1922, Anita lived a life rich with love, faith, and a deep commitment to her family. 

Anita was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and had a special fondness for butterflies, symbols of the beauty she saw in the world. But above all, she was a woman of strong faith, and her belief in God was at the heart of who she was. Her faith gave her strength throughout her long life, providing her with peace during times of loss and guiding her through life's many challenges. 

On August 1, 1941, Anita married Winton, the love of her life, and they shared 34 wonderful years together before his passing in 1975. Together, they raised four children: James, Winita, Michael, and Martin. Anita was deeply affected by the loss of her son James at the age of 12 and later the passing of her daughter Winita. Despite these heartbreaks, she continued to find strength in her faith and love for her family. 

Anita’s family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in watching her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grow. She was always there to lend an ear, offer guidance, or share a smile, and she will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and unshakable love for those around her. 

Anita is now reunited with Winton, James, and Winita, but her legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. 

A private family service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity that was close to Anita’s heart.

Rest in peace, Anita. You will be missed, but your love will continue to surround us.

Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held May 3, 2025, 1-4 p.m., at Foothill Community Church 2475 Foothill Blvd. Oroville CA 95966.
