Obituary of Florinda Beatrice Stanton

Florinda Beatrice Stanton 86, passed away on Feburary 9,2025.

Florinda was born on August 31, 1938 on a dairy ranch in district 10. She attended Central House school and then transferred to Sycamore before attending Notre Dame School in Marysville. While in School Florinda was the student council Vice President, editor of the year book, a member of the French Club, in Choir, the sacred heart club and on the volleyball team where she lettered. She graduated high school in 1956.

During her working years, Florinda worked at Libby's cannery and  the dried fruit association but her final and her most favorite job of all, was working at the fine jewelry counter at Gottschalks. She worked there until they closed. After retiring, she vounteered at Orchard Hospital and was a friend of the library. 

Flo loved her family and loved spending time with them. She loved the coast and enjoyed traveling. She also greatly enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking. In her later years, Flo enjoyed going to Festas and auctions. She loved collecting Hummel figurines.

Flo was an active member in many clubs, a proud member of the Portuguese Society of America (PFSA) and the Portuguese Fraternal society (UPPEC). She was also a senior Regent at the Moose and had the opportunity to travel to mooseheart in Chicago. She was the founder of the Sunday Breakfasts and participated in many festas, from Fort Bragg to Princton and Rio Vista. She took great pride in giving away her baked goods.

Flo lived a full life of traveling, family and friends. She was a smart, classy lady full of wit and she will be dearly missed.
