Obituary of Ina Faye Hollingsworth
Her Legacy… Ina Faye Hollingsworth was born May 23, 1924 in Springfield, Missouri to Floyd and Annetta Burke. Ina Faye passed away on January 12, 2016 surrounded by family. She met George Hollingsworth while in high school in Springfield. George later relocated to Oakland, Ca. to work in the steel industry and Ina Faye soon followed and they were married in Reno, Nevada on August 21, 1942. Shortly after their marriage George enlisted in the Army Air Corps. While in the Military Ina Faye’s parents Floyd and Annetta moved to Oakland and opened a dry cleaning and laundry plant in Alameda and Oakland while Ina Faye worked as a telephone operator. After George was discharged from the Army he returned to Oakland and taking lead from Floyd, he and Ina Faye opened multiple dry-cleaning plants in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and Los Altos and in 1971 opened a drapery manufacturing business in Oroville where they would ultimately retire. Ina Faye loved water skiing on Lake Oroville, horseback riding, golf, her involvement in Eastern Star and trips to Europe, Canada, and Mexico. She looked forward to their annual “snow bird” trip to Yuma, AZ where they made many friends and played golf daily. She was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Always full of love and laughter and family oriented she always enjoyed the family get-together’s which were numerous. She was strong in her faith and often made sacrifices to serve others, a trait she instilled in others. Her passing leaves a great void in many hearts.
