Obituary of Kenneth George Hemstalk
A funeral service will be held on Monday October 30, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Table Mountain Ward in Oroville, for Kenneth George Hemstalk, 74 of Oroville. Ken passed away on Friday October 20, 2017 in Oroville.
He was born on November 8, 1942, one of five children born to George and Edith Hemstalk. He was a lifelong resident of Oroville, having taught school in the Palermo school district for 26 years. He loved sports, Abbot and Costello and the Three Stooges. He enjoyed playing games such as pinnacle, rook and monopoly. He was a lifelong member of the LDS church and served in many church callings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy Hemstalk, two sisters, Ruth Nevers and Phyllis Lindelof.
He is survived by his son Shane (Jenny) Hemstalk, daughter Mikila Hemstalk, one brother Bob (Lillian) Hemstalk, one sister Rae (Max) Wetzel, and one granddaughter Charlotte Hemstalk, all of Oroville.
Bishop Phil Papa of Table Mountain First Ward will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Oroville Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel 530-846-2138.
