Obituary of Eric Dean Olson

A memorial service will be held on Monday October 23, 2017 at 4:00 p.om at the First Presbyterian Church in Gridley for Eric D. Olson, 55 of Gridley. He passed away Thursday October 12, 2017 in Gridley.

He was born on July 24, 1962 in Yuba City. He was a longtime resident of Gridley, having attended local schools and graduated from Gridley High School, class of 1980. He attended Cal Poly and Chico State, receiving his teaching degree. He taught math at Yuba City High School, River Valley High School and Albert Powell High School all in Yuba City. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed raising livestock.

He is survived by his parents, Ken and Nancy Olson of Gridley, two brothers, Gary (Linda) Olson of Gridley, Steve Olson of Yuba City, uncle Alvin (Pat) Olson also of Gridley, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family requests contributions to the American Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation, Yuba City Education Fund/Albert Powell or the Gridley Education Foundation Ag Fund.

Private interment will be in the Gridley Biggs Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life reception following the service.  Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
