Obituary of Clara Clampitt
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday July 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley for Clara Jean Clampitt, 70 of Live Oak. Clara passed away on Saturday July 22, 2017 in Yuba City, CA.
She was born on March 26, 1947 in San Francisco, CA, one of four children born to Frank and Alice Martinez. She was a longtime resident of the Gridley-Live Oak area, having managed the Sprouse Ritz store in Gridley for 14 years. She retired from Butte County CPS as a social worker. She enjoyed horses, Disneyland and Mickey Mouse. She loved her family deeply and was very devoted to the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Judy Garcia.
Clara is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Clampitt of Live Oak; one son James E. Clampitt, and one daughter Bobbie Clampitt, both of Oroville, numerous grandchildren, one brother, Gerald Martinez of Oroville, one sister Joanne Reyes of South San Francisco, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. The family suggests contributions to St. Jude’s or the Ronald McDonald House. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Gridley Biggs Cemetery.
