He was the loving husband of Carroll Ray. He was born with the last name of Carter and later his mother married William Ray. William Ray was the only father he knew. He spent most of his life in and around San Jose and moved to Oroville in 1999 to marry Carroll. Neal and Carroll were married at First Baptist Church in Oroville on April 24, 1999. He will be remembered for his love of Jesus, his love for his family and friends; he loved to help others and was loved by all that knew him. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Christian Motorcyclist Association and will be remembered by them as well.

His Family… Neal is survived by his wife, Carroll, brother, Bill, sister-in-law Donna, nieces, Christie, and Darla, his nephew, Jonathan, step-sons, Karl and Stanley Jennings and step daughter, Pam Jennings, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Afterglow- I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

His Farewell Service… A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, July 1, 2017, 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 2661 Yard Street, Oroville, CA. Neal will be laid to rest at a private service at Igo Veterans Cemetery at Igo, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations to World Vision, P.O. Box 7841, Tacoma, WA 98481-8481. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
