Obituary of Darrell Lee Brokaw

A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 1, 2017 at 10:00 am at Gridley Biggs Cemetery for Darrell L. Brokaw, 86, formerly of Gridley, CA.

He was born June 26, 1930 in Denver, Colorado, one of five children born to Lloyd and Gladys Brokaw. He was a longtime resident of Gridley, having worked many years for Cal-Trans. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed overseas. He was a member of the North Butte Masonic Lodge, VFW Gridley Post, and a member of the Gridley Loyal Order of the Moose.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Brokaw, three brothers; Fred, Olan, and Al Brokaw.

He is survived by one daughter Darrellyne (Tony) Klein of Chico, CA, one sister Fay Pierce of Hamilton City, CA, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Family suggests donations to Dementia Society of America. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
