Obituary of Evelyn L Wallis

A funeral service will be held on Friday June 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gridley for Lula Evelyn Dillard Wallis, 92 of Gridley, CA. She passed away on Sunday May 21, 2017 in Gridley.

She was born October 6, 1924 in Bonnerdale, AR. She married Joseph B. Wallis on December 28, 1945 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. J.B. Wallis, as he was called and Evelyn had one daughter, Sharon Suzette Wallace. Joe (J.B.) died in 2006, and Evelyn lived alone until her death. She was a longtime resident of Gridley.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, was renowned for her pie making, and most of all she enjoyed her family. She was a devout member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Gary) Jeter, of Oroville, CA, two brothers; Wayne (Marie) Dillard of Gridley, and William (Cheryl) Dillard also of Gridley, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Family friend Vic Cady will officiate the service. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. Interment in Gridley Biggs Cemetery. The family suggest contributions be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
