Obituary of ANNA LOUISE REAVIS

Anna Louise Reavis born February 22,1922 to Minor and Vera Prather in Mt. Moriah, MO entered into peace and rest May 8, 2017 in Sacramento CA. She began teaching in Missouri in 1940 and continued teaching in Oroville and retired in 1997. For 40 years she was married to Charles F. Reavis in 1947 who preceded her in death. After retirement she volunteered at her church and drove cancer patients to their appointments in Chico, CA. She resided in Oroville, CA until 2009 when she made the move to Elk Grove, CA. She raised one son and daughter. She will be remembered for her undying devotion to her teaching, especially lesson planning and students, smile, gentle, kind and fair nature. Her children remember an organized clean household, her self discipline, her dedication to her church and faith in times of leadership changes (she followed Christ and stayed with FUMC), sacrificed her personal time to ensure her children were involved in community clubs such as BSA and 4H, piano and dance lessons, tennis, and travel during summers seeing most of the USA/western Canada, and visiting family in Missouri most summers for family and family reunions. Ann is survived by her son, Marc Reavis, daughter Carol Reavis, grandson Michael Jones and her younger sister Annetta Smeltzer, 93, of Illinois. A celebration of Ann's life will be Monday, May 22, 2017 ~9am at the First United Methodist Church Oroville, CA. Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband during a private family burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations or volunteerism to any Alzheimer's associated charity, Oroville Rescue Mission, or Habitat for Humanity in her name.
