Obituary of Corlis Maurice Marchbanks

His Legacy… Born on August 30, 1938 in Roswell, New Mexico to James Alfred Marchbanks and Lorene (Marchbanks) Woodward. Corlis passed away on February 11, 2017 at UC Davis in Sacramento, CA. Corlis was a current, longtime resident of Oroville, He was a car enthusiast extraordinaire, enjoying the restoration of classics, racing stock cars, and had a fascination with the new, innovative gadgets of current day vehicles. Corlis was a member of the Oro Dam Cruisers of Oroville as well as Gracepoint Church. He was employed by and retired with Pepsi Bottling Company of Oroville and became fondly known around town as "The Pepsi Guy" Corlis enjoyed his work with the public where he never met a stranger. He was affectionately known as Corlis or Carl by family and friends and will be remembered for his sense of humor, warm smile, infectious laugh, playful nature, racetrack Fridays, long road trips, and his love for everyone. His Family… Corlis is survived by his children, Sherlyn Garcia of Wister, OK, Glenda Wright of Coto de Caza, CA, Claudia Samson of Delta, British Columbia, Robert Pierce of Sacramento, Kathy Ayers of Oroville, and Barbara Natz of Elk Grove, a brother Herman Marchbanks of Springville, CA, Corlis was the proud Grandpa to Grand, Great Grand, and Great-Great Grandchildren and a favored Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Corlis was preceded in death by his spouses Pauline Marchbanks and Edith Marchbanks, sons Verlyn Marchbanks of Midwest City, OK and Paul Pierce of Oroville, grandsons Timothy Garcia, Derrick Marchbanks, and granddaughter Kylee Pierce. His Farewell Service… A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5 - 8pm at Ramsey Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1pm, also at Ramsey Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
