Obituary of John Stephens

John F. Stephens passed away after a short illness on October 16, 2016 in Oroville, California at the age of 85. John was born on November 3, 1930 in Yakama Washington to Guy & Daisy Stephens. When he was 18 years old John joined the Army. After training he was sent to Korea. He was always proud of the fact that he fought for his country. In 1952, John married Vivian and started a family. He was blessed with four daughters; Peggy, Connie, Sheila & Sherri. This was a challenge to John because he came from a family of all boys; He did survive and learned to love his daughters more & more with every year. In December 1954 they moved to Oroville. He worked at a ply-wood plant for a couple of years and then went to work at Oroville Dam as a Cement Mason. During his lifetime John had many hobbies; motorcycles, boats, Gold mining, bingo and bowling to name a few. Through the years John's family increased. He had five Grand-children; Cory, Ron Karrie, Stefany and Patrick. Then as time went by John had five Great-Grandchildren; Skyler, Wyntur, Ocean, Pypper, and Jayden. John was 85 years old when he died. He had a good life and was loved by many. A Graveside Funeral Ceremony with Military Honors will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, 12:00 noon, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd. Oroville California 95966.
