Obituary of Traire Lynne Johnson

Her Legacy… Traire Lynne Johnson was born on August 7, 1952, in Chico, California, the daughter of Robert Athol Phippen and Norma Jean Halder. Traire passed away December 11, 2015, at her home in Oroville, California. A born-again believer in Jesus Christ, she grew up in Oroville and Chico, moving to and graduating high school in Palos Verdes, CA. She married Dennis William Thompson on Sept. 15, 1973 in Torrance, CA. She later married David Scott Johnson, September 10, 1997, in Lake Tahoe, CA. A member of the Oroville Church of the Nazarene, she was an active member of Women’s Aglow, starting its affiliate in Frankfurt, Germany. She was the president of the Oroville chapter and supported state functions. She was also employed by the Women’s Resource Clinic of Chico and Betty Jean’s Boutique of Oroville. The mother of four, Traire is passing on a legacy of compassion and joy. She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be infinitely missed and forever in our hearts. Her Family… Traire is survived by David, her loving husband of 18 years; her mother Norma, siblings Robert Edward, Marc William, David Allen and Angela Noel, children Rebecca Lynne, Sarah Joanne, Michael William and Jessica Jean, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her Farewell Service…The family will receive friends at Oroville Church of the Nazarene on Monte Vista Ave., Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM with interment and reception to follow.
