Obituary of Fred LaVern Welty
Fred LaVern Welty was born on Oct. 1, 1949 in Richmond, California to Fred R. & Verda Welty. Fred entered into rest of natural causes on April 9, 2018 in Oroville, California. Fred was a long time truck driver, for 30 years. He was also a mechanic that enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small engines. Fred loved the outdoors, camping and being with people he cared about. In his younger days he was a drag racer. Family was very important to him but he spent most of his time enjoying his hobby at the casino.
Fred is survived by his daughter Latonya (Delbert) Welty-Ellsworth and her children Casey Joe and Kayla, his son Gus (Regena) Welty and his 5 children and 3 grandchildren, his daughter Pamela (Jr) Vasquez and her children Brytnie, Marion, Coltrin Kafader and great grandchildren Rosella, Camillo and Naveen. He is also survived by his children through previous marriage: Tammy (Dan) DeLucia and their children: Tiffany & Bryanna, great-grandchildren: Haydee & Lylah. Jill (Scotty) Wood, their children Coleman, Devon, Haylee, Jade, Austin and Tim (Cheri) Copelan and their children Tim, Tyler, Rose, Rylan. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Beverly Drummond & her husband Ross Drummond, Janice Denham and grandson Cody Welty-Lincoln.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday May 20, 2018 at the VFW, 1901 Elgin St, in Oroville. A potluck reception will immediately follow the service in the VFW fellowship hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oroville Funeral Home (530 533-0323).
