Funeral Services will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Gridley, 446 Kentucky Street, Gridley, Thursday, March 8, at 10 a.m., for Martha "Jane" McDonald, 94, of Biggs who passed away on February 28, 2018. Her five children were at her bedside when she went to Heaven.

Jane was born in South Heights, PA on September 5, 1923. She attended Elementary School and High School in South Heights before leaving to attend Business College in Pittsburgh. After meeting Walt Martin, they moved to Illinois, Maryland, San Francisco and then found their home in Biggs, CA.

Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Hal McDonald in 2010 - and by the Father of her children, Walt Martin who passed away last year. She is survived by her longtime boyfriend, Dale Wheeler of Live Oak.

She worked in the business world from age 17 years (during World War II) until she was 59 years old when she retired from Butte County Public Works in Oroville.

Jane loved playing cards, dominos, traveling, entertaining, and was a generous person on a daily basis.

Jane was a member of the Biggs United Methodist Church for over 62 years, a member of the Women's Club, Gridley VFW Auxiliary, SIRS of Chico, Biggs Beautification Group, participated in the programs at the Gridley Senior Recreation Center and volunteered at the Library.

She was most proud of her five children and is survived by them all, Brooke Martin McDonald, Doug Martin, Zan Wimberly (Herb), Jan Meyer (Walt) and Colleen Guillory (Craig Ellis); her 14 grandchildren and her 29 great-grandchildren. Jane also included the children from both husbands as part of her family - Lynne Lyman (Ron), Mike McDonald (Andrea), Blaine Martin (Camie) and their families.

A Graveside Service will follow the Funeral Service and the family invites friends to join them in a lunch at 12:15 at the Butte County Fairgrounds following the services.

The Family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Jane during her last days. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Biggs United Methodist Church or the Ladies Auxiliary VFW of Gridley.

Arrangements are provided by Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
