Dearest Alice and family:
We are all so sad at the passing of this giant of a man, who loved family more than self, was the best friend our Father could ever have asked for and was our "2nd Dad". How grateful we are to have known him. We are sure that Dad, Mom and Ken were some of the first to welcome him home and that he will continue to watch over you all from on high. Though he has been taken from our sight for now, he will forever live in our hearts. God be with you til we meet again sweet John.

It is difficult when our brothers pass; Dan Long passed January 22, 2018. The last time I saw John was at a class gathering with John and Dan in attendance.Our families have remained close since they started out in Portola - our parents were friends. It was always a standing comment on how the Longs and the Mastelottos took over Oroville. There were so many of us that everyone else was a little intimidated. Sports was the conduit that kept us all together at Oroville High.
